Hurricane shutters come in several different styles:

• Storm Panel Hurricane Shutter
Panel hurricane shutters are manufactured to attach to the walls around the windows and doors with bolts or through the placement of tracks. The corrugated design of these panels ensures maximum strength. These panels provide excellent protection for your windows and doors and are removable.

• Accordion Hurricane Shutters
Accordion hurricane shutters come in one or two piece styles. These are shutters that are permanently affixed beside the windows or the doors. They unfold accordion-style to protect and cover your windows and doors during a storm. The ease of the accordion hurricane shutters makes it so one person can get a house storm-ready.

• Roll-down Hurricane Shutters
Roll-down hurricane shutters are attached above the window or door. These shutters are lowered automatically, manually or with a crank and are locked into place to ensure maximum storm protection. These shutters offer some of the best protection against a storm. They are permanently affixed to the house and also allow for one-person to get a house storm-ready.

There are even motorized shutters which can be operated using a switch or remote, which can be over-ridden and operated manually in the event power is lost due to a hurricane.
